University Evaluation
The Bonn Model of University Evaluation is a standardized, modular procedure for evaluating teaching, research, equal opportunities and the promotion of young talent.
In accordance with the current Evaluation and Accreditation Regulations for Studies and Teaching (EvAO) of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn of 17 August 2023, the Center for Evaluation and Methods (ZEM), as a central operating facility under the responsibility of the Rectorate, provides instruments for the implementation of quality assurance procedures in studies and teaching and develops these further in cooperation with the organizational units and the Rectorate.
The ZEM provides module and course evaluation services and is responsible for conducting the general student survey and, if applicable, the internal graduate survey. In this context, the ZEM advises the organizational units and the student councils on the design of procedures.
The evaluations of courses and modules are a basis for optimizing teaching and are therefore in the interest of the students. To this end, as many students as possible should take part in the surveys. Measures derived from surveys to optimize teaching should be communicated to students. This can also help to motivate students to take part in the surveys.

Course evaluation
ZEM offers different solutions for course evaluation.

Module evaluation
One possibility for the evaluation of modules as overarching curricular structures is in a standardized manner online.

General student survey
The General Student Survey is based on the objectives of the University of Bonn and focuses in particular on the skills students acquire through their studies and the challenges they face during their studies.

Further surveys
In addition to the surveys offered across the board, other surveys can also be carried out in the context of studying and teaching with the support of the ZEM. These include, for example, surveys of specific target groups such as students in a specific study phase or surveys to identify potential teaching award winners.
